I have been having acute menstrual pains this year. Acute as in stomach churning, intestines (or maybe the ovaries?) twisting pain which I have to curl up and not move an inch, and if i try to shift my position, the pain comes searing through my abdomen and is so terrible that it even makes me puke out my dinner (I think the twisting must be so terrer that it even affects my esophagus’s peristalsis. WTF.
Someone with a better knowledge on Biology please enlighten me.). At that time, I just wish someone would get me a screwdriver to gut myself with.
Anyways, GUITAR LESSON TODAY AGAIN! Yippee!
Did more exercises on the 4th and 5th strings *yawns*, 6th string exercise as homework. Then, continued with Goo Goo Dolls’s Black Balloon (my teacher thought it was ‘baloon’ *faints* Lol!). Was telling him that it sounded weird since last week’s lesson and today when he brought the cd and played it, he laughed or more like ‘eheh heh heh’ malu-ly coz it turned out that I had to tune the guitar a flat lower.
It’s just freakin funny lar whenever he does ‘eheh heh heh heh’ thingy coz I don’t really expect such a cool lead guitarist dude (have I told you he has long hair which looks really good? Bwahahahahaha!) to act that way. Continued with the song we did. Turns out that the strumming pattern and chords he gave me weren’t that (quoting him exactly) ‘precise’. Lol. He tried to defend himself a little, jokingly lar of course and which was again, FUNNY!
Anyhow, the intro to Black Balloon was harmonics and I hadn’t learnt that before. So he gave me a harmonics exercise where I’d have to stretch my 2nd and last finger wide apart to reach the 7th and 12th frets. *faints*
The unusual tone of guitar harmonics, the actual split-second plucking and even the location of the frets that produce the guitar harmonics are all minute details that take a very long time to master and recognize. Learning the guitar harmonics takes time and patience, more so then many other techniques and while many guitarists use guitar-tuning harmonics, not many players even attempt to produce harmonics until they have been playing a very long time.

What in the world is he thinking?!?!?!?!? God, this is definitely the most intensive guitar learning ‘course’ I’ve ever been to! He keeps using the ‘you’re on holiday riteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee? *evil*’ phrase. T.T
Okay lar, I have to admit, regardless of the finger stretching mild difficulty, it is actually quite fun learning to produce sounds this way. Very cool indeed!
And bloody do I need my finger nails to grow faster especially my right thumb’s. It grows SO slowly! Does anybody know how to make them grow faster and stronger (as in not break easily)?
Another really tough ’skill’ I had to learn today was that half-barre thingy. He changed the A chord to a A/C# chord! *Cries, left hand and wrist cramps, i finger goes numb, finally faints* HOW IN THE WORLD does anyone press it perfectly without unintentionally muting one of the strings or making it go ‘twaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang’ or changing into that chord fast enough? I’d very much like to blame it on my fingers being too fat or short, but I hardly think that’s the case. Sigh. Practice, practice, practice. That’s what he and they all say. And therefore, practice I will. The skin of the tip of my left fingers are turning so thick that I can hardly feel anything with them anymore!
Whatever impression I might have given you after reading this post, I am still enjoying my lessons very much (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than before with the previous teachers at Mahogany a few years back)!
Maybe it’s coz I’m actually learning something and not just playing for the sake of playing a few easy songs. I am so going to miss the lessons when I’m off to HKU. But I swear I’ll continue my lessons when I’m back for my semester breaks and hopefully he’d still be teaching there. Bwahahahhahahaha!

1st pick with two stupid cicaks on it! Ew!

My sacred weapon! T.T One of the buds has gone missing. *sniff* I can’t live without them. Does anybody know where I can just get the earbud? I really don’t wanna get a new set of earphones just because I lost that earbud.
P.s. Emo post coming up tomorrow.
